Sega Creators Could Ditch Their NFT Plans If Fans Keep Attacking The Project

Sega, a major Japanese gaming company, has promised to scrap its NFT plan if fanatics continue to criticize the project. 

Brief Facts 

  • Last year Sega - highly regarded for Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat, Sega announced a partnership with blockchain gaming startup double jump Tokyo to promote virtual content in the form of NFTs. 
  • Most of the Sega fandom say that they see NFT ventures as mere revenue-generating activities that may not be considered for fanatics and can have serious environmental impacts. 
  • In response, Sega's CEO Haruki Satomi said employers could reconsider their previously imposed NFT plans. 
  • Competing gaming company Konami is facing backlash from fanatics after unveiling the first final week of its  NFT series at Castlevania's 35th-anniversary party to be auctioned off in the OpenSea NFT marketplace. 
  • Konami is a large gaming company it's one of the biggest in the gaming space.
